Energy Traders Europe and AIGET Form Strategic Partnership to Strengthen European Energy Markets
Energy Traders Europe and AIGET the Italian Association of Wholesalers an Energy Traders, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing strategic cooperation through a shared vision for advancing the interests of energy traders across the continent. The agreement formalises the intent of both organisations to work together to amplify their collective voice and influence national and European policy linked to Europe’s wholesale energy markets.
As part of the MoU, the two associations will strengthen their cooperation by combining their expertise to improve the conditions for energy trading in Europe and Italy.
“The energy transition in Europe calls for solidarity and coordinated action. Our partnership with AIGET means that energy traders can expect strengthened representation as we navigate regulatory change, market integration, and the challenges of decarbonisation”, stated Barbara Lempp, COO of Energy Traders Europe. “Together, we will help shape a resilient, competitive, and transparent marketplace for all.”
Leonardo Santi, President of AIGET, said, “This MoU marks a significant step toward greater collaboration between European energy traders. By working together, we can achieve more in shaping the regulatory environment and promoting the interests of our members.”
The MoU will remain in effect for two years. Both organisations will operate independently while working closely together to represent the interests of the energy trading sector.
The first meeting between the two associations, where important steps for the future cooperation were decided, took place on Monday 20 October 2025.
